Vincent Loup

My name is Vincent Loup, I work with colours and shapes, be it through prints, paintings or big scale room installations.

I live in Zürich for over seven years now. Over these years I’ve studied and graduated from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). Before moving to Zürich I completed a bachelors degree in political science and history at the University of Lausanne. I’ve been practicing printmaking since the age of six, acquired a wide range of skills and knowledege related to it and started teaching it to others at the age of 17. I then started designing and building theater stages at the age of 19, while I was studying at the University of Lausanne. This contributed to leading me towards changing the path of my studies and join the ZHdK after graduating in Lausanne. This finally achieved to put my artistic practice at the center of my life, where painting also became one of my main artistic activities.

As a reflection of myself and the high and varied pace of what drives, moves me and occupies my mind and toughts, the forms and ways of my artistic expression never cease to change and evolve. Despite the variations, the essence of it remains constant and unalienated and contributes to a overall coherend work : a direct, authentic, true and sincere imprint of what constitudes me as a person, directly and deeply touched and affected by others and the world around me

Solo Exhibition at ars48 Gallery in Zürich, 2024. Paintings available.
